ADVANCED WELL CONTROL
Well Control training for drilling personnel is often limited to bi-annual Well Control certification courses. Whilst these classroom-based courses give personnel a solid grounding in the fundamentals of well control principles and test these on a simulator, they only expose the trainees to the minimum-required level of well control scenarios and downhole conditions. Realistically, the wells drilled by most crews are far more challenging than those covered in a standard well control course. Wells are often inclined, drilled with oil-based drilling fluids, or are affected by a number of more subtle external conditions. Crews whose only training has been in standard well control courses may lack confidence when encountering more complex conditions. Attendees on NEFT Energies Training Institute Advanced Well Control course will be confronted by realistic well control scenarios played out on a drilling simulator with an experienced instructor, who will ask them to take decisions on the best methods of dealing with each situation. Team decisions are encouraged and the team may find that they have to think more creatively to understand what caused the conditions and to decide the best methods to return themselves to pre-planned operational conditions.
ASSISTANT DRILLER PROGRAM (IADC Accredited)
The Rig Assistant Driller is responsible for assisting the driller on all his tasks and duties which can include and not limited to, drilling function, daily driller inspection, and daily supervision of rig activities. Assistant Driller will play a key role in rig start-ups operations on a new drilling site, assist in daily drilling, workover, and well control operations. This course will educate the participants on how to perform regular inspection on drilling systems and drilling equipment. They will learn how to operate on both a Joy stick cyber chair and a manual rig break type. The course will also focus on assembling bottom hole assembly, rig math, general and 3rd party service operations.
BANKSMAN – SLINGER
Banksman-Slinger operations on Oil and Gas, Construction and Engineering sites are carried out worldwide on a daily basis. Unfortunately the results when things go wrong can be both dangerous and catastrophic to lives and equipment. This course will enhance the skills for personnel who perform rigging, lifting & slinging activities using lifting equipment and lifting accessories to the recognized industry standards, including the current rigging/moving loads regulations and legislation. This course will promote the best industry practice in rigging, slinging & lifting methodology and inspection of equipment and work to the requirements of Safe use of lifting equipment.
BASIC PETROLEUM GEOLOGY
What is Basic Petroleum Geology? For all practical purposes it closely resembles the freshman level course that a non-science major at a university would take to satisfy the science requirement. Presentation is oriented toward topics of interest to the petroleum industry. While high school chemistry and physics might help in understanding a very few selected topics, the course is designed for those with no technical training (and those who studiously avoided science in school). Primary objectives of the course are to broaden your geological vocabulary, explain selected geological principles and processes, and describe how certain petroleum reservoirs and source rocks are formed.
DRILLING FOR NON-DRILLERS
The course is designed to provide participants with basic knowledge of drilling experience, a broad overview and complete understanding of the process involved in the Drilling of oil & gas wells. The course will discuss the basic concepts of drilling a well, general overview of well construction, and how it fits into the exploration and production process and its interaction. Participants will also learn about various types of rigs and the risks and safety involved in these operations. Participants will also obtain an understanding of well design, the purpose of running casings and the importance of fluids in drilling. By completing the course participants will understand the phases, operations and terminology used in drilling of oil & gas wells.
Essential Leadership Skills for Technical Professionals
In the oil and gas industry, skillful and competent leadership is extremely important for safety, productivity, and asset management. The 21st century brings new emphasis on leaders, new communication technologies, increased focus on safety, information overload, workforce dynamics, asset integrity, and many other concerns which challenge even the most procient leader/manager. How do we blend these new challenges with tried and true wisdom of success? There are skills to learn that will help you be more effective, with less stress. In this seminar/workshop you will explore your internal drivers and learn how to combine them with new skills for greater effectiveness. This seminar/workshop will include self assessment, discussion, lecture, readings, role-playing, games, video examples, and creation of participant action plans. This course will help you unleash natural motivation in your team. Your stress level can be lowered by working more eciently and effectively by tapping the emotional intelligence of your team and co-workers.
FLOW LINE SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM (FSR)
Flowlines systems are used in oil & gas sector, and general industries, most of the time they can be under pressure, failure to not properly handle pressure flowline failures could lead to a catastrophic disaster. In order to avoid these disasters Flowline system restraints are used to minimize the hazards. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding about Flowline Safe Restraint System which includes components, maintenance and inspection procedures. The course will enable candidates to perform the installation procedures as per manufacturer recommendations and standards. The course incorporates theory discussions and practical exercises.
GAS PRESSURE / PNEUMATIC / BUBBLE TEST TRAININGS
Gas pressure / pneumatic test / bubble test is used to detect through leaks using one of the four major LT techniques such as Bubble, Pressure Change. Bubble Leak Testing relies on the visual detection of a gas (usually air) leaking from a pressurized system; Pressure Change Leak Testing can be performed on closed systems only detection of a leak is done by either pressurizing the system or pulling a vacuum then monitoring the pressure
HIGH PRESSURE, HIGH TEMPERATURE DRILLING OPERATIONS
This HPHT Drilling course provides a comprehensive understanding of the well design and operational requirements for HPHT wells. It develops the principles of HPHT well engineering from rig selection through well control and HPHT considerations for casing design, drilling fluids and cement formulations. The course draws on case studies for classroom discussions. This course is designed to reach multiple levels at both the rig site and office. Introducing High Pressure and High Temperature scenarios to the crews allows your team to identify the challenges created in an HPHT well in both the drilling and well control environment. This course takes a very practical approach to the communication challenges involved in a HPHT situation. The course focuses on recognizing and understanding indicators of critical well conditions and developing response plans that often require complex solutions.
IADC – WELL SHARP LIVE DRILLING DRILLER-SUPERVISORY LEVEL
The aim of this course is to let trainees be more acquainted and aware about the latest practices of well control. Also, this course will reinforce and improve the candidate?s existing knowledge and appreciation of the various stages of well control. Finally this course will assure individuals have the competence to fulfill their well control responsibilities in the oil and gas industry. The IADC WellSharp Driller/Supervisor Level course is essential training for those who are working in wellsite and for office based personnel that are primarily involved in the operational decision making process and/or well design.
