Academic Integrity & AI Policy
NEFT Energies Training Centre expects all learners to act honestly, responsibly, and ethically when using the NEFT Training platform, online courses, assessments, certificates, and related digital learning services.
This policy defines academic integrity requirements, responsible use of artificial intelligence tools, prohibited conduct, assessment rules, prevention and detection measures, remediation procedures, penalties, and grievance or appeal channels. It is intended to protect the credibility of training outcomes, assessment results, learner records, and certificates.
Academic Integrity and Expected Behavior
Learners are expected to:
- Complete learning activities, quizzes, assignments, assessments, and course requirements honestly and personally.
- Use only permitted resources during quizzes, assessments, and assignments.
- Follow course instructions, assessment rules, time limits, attempt limits, and submission requirements.
- Keep account credentials private and avoid sharing access with others.
- Respect instructors, learners, administrators, support teams, and the eLearning environment.
- Respect intellectual property rights related to course materials, videos, documents, quizzes, assessments, and certificates.
- Report suspected misuse, cheating, impersonation, or academic misconduct through official support channels.
Unauthorized Behavior
The following actions are unauthorized :
- Cheating in quizzes, exams, assessments, assignments, or course activities.
- Impersonating another learner or allowing another person to complete activities or assessments on the learner’s behalf.
- Sharing accounts, passwords, answers, quiz content, assessment materials, or restricted course content.
- Copying, recording, publishing, distributing, or selling course materials, questions, answers, certificates, or platform content without authorization.
- Plagiarism, unauthorized copying, or submitting work that is not the learner’s own.
- Using unauthorized materials, external assistance, scripts, bots, automation, or AI tools during assessments unless explicitly allowed.
- Attempting to manipulate attendance, participation, progress, scores, completion status, certificates, or platform records.
- Attempting to bypass platform controls, identity requirements, assessment restrictions, or security measures.
- Providing false or misleading information related to identity, learning progress, assessment results, or certificate eligibility.
Assessment Rules
Learners must comply with all published assessment instructions, including attempt limits, time limits, permitted resources, identity requirements, submission rules, and passing criteria.
Assessment content, including questions, answers, feedback, scoring logic, and related materials, must not be copied, photographed, recorded, shared, published, distributed, or used outside the platform unless NEFT Training provides written permission.
Where identity verification, activity tracking, or review procedures are required, learners must cooperate with the applicable requirements.
Permitted AI Use
AI tools may be used only when they do not conflict with course instructions, assessment rules, or academic integrity requirements. Permitted use may include:
- General study support and explanation of public concepts.
- Summarization of personal study notes or publicly available learning materials.
- Language assistance, grammar improvement, brainstorming, or accessibility support.
- Using AI features provided or approved by NEFT Training for a specific course activity.
- Supporting understanding while ensuring submitted work remains the learner’s own.
Unauthorized AI Use
The following AI-related uses are prohibited unless explicitly allowed in the relevant course or assessment instructions:
- Using AI to answer quizzes, exams, assignments, or assessments.
- Submitting AI-generated work as the learner’s own work without authorization or required disclosure.
- Using AI to impersonate another person or complete training activities on behalf of another learner.
- Using AI to bypass platform controls, generate misleading records, manipulate progress, or affect certificate eligibility.
- Uploading confidential, personal, learner, assessment, or platform data into external AI tools without authorization.
- Using AI in a way that violates privacy, intellectual property rights, platform rules, or applicable laws and regulations.
Learner Accountability and Disclosure
Learners are responsible for all activity performed under their account, including any work supported by AI tools or external assistance.
Learners must verify the accuracy of submitted work, avoid plagiarism, protect confidential and personal data, and comply with course-specific instructions. If a course, assessment, instructor, or platform rule requires disclosure of AI use, learners must clearly state how AI was used.
Failure to disclose AI use where disclosure is required may be treated as academic misconduct.
Prevention and Detection
NEFT Training may apply reasonable measures to protect academic integrity and certificate credibility. These measures may include:
- Account authentication and access controls.
- Activity logs and learning progress records.
- Assessment attempt tracking and time monitoring.
- Review of unusual activity patterns.
- Instructor or administrator review.
- Plagiarism, similarity, or AI-use review where applicable.
- Verification of certificate eligibility and completion requirements.
- Review of complaints, reports, or suspected misconduct.
These measures are used to prevent misuse, detect irregularities, protect learners, and maintain the integrity of training records and certificates.
Remediation and Corrective Actions
When suspected misconduct is identified, NEFT Training may review relevant records, request clarification from the learner, reset an activity or assessment attempt, require reassessment, restrict access temporarily, or correct affected records.
Corrective actions will depend on the nature, severity, impact, and recurrence of the violation.
Penalties
Depending on the violation, NEFT Training may apply one or more of the following actions:
- Warning or written notice.
- Cancellation of quiz, assignment, or assessment results.
- Requirement to repeat an activity, assessment, or course.
- Restriction or suspension of platform access.
- Removal from a course or program.
- Withholding, suspension, cancellation, or revocation of a certificate.
- Reporting the violation to the learner’s sponsor, employer, regulator, or relevant authority where applicable.
- Further administrative or legal action where required.
Grievances and Appeals
Learners may submit a grievance or appeal if they believe an academic integrity decision was made in error. Appeals must be submitted through official support channels and should include a clear explanation and any supporting evidence.
NEFT Training will review appeals fairly and respond within a reasonable timeframe according to the available information, platform records, and applicable requirements.
Policy Updates
NEFT Training may update this Academic Integrity & AI Policy from time to time to reflect changes in platform operations, assessment methods, regulatory requirements, AI governance practices, or accreditation standards. The updated version will be published on the platform.
